2. What is a realistic return to expect?. These vary widely, but I think I minimum of 30% annually is realistic. Tell us what you're looking for and we'll do our best to get it for you.
3. Now that you told me this, can't I do it myself? Of course. And you can fix your own car, upgrade your own computer, smash your own atoms, whatever. But shouldn't you work with someone who has made millions doing what you're looking to do?
4. Do you work with everyone who comes to you? Nope. We spend the first session getting to know the investor. If things aren't working between us we don't continue on. I want to remain semi-retired and I insist that all of our clients get my personal attention.
5. How risky is this REALLY? Personally I think it's less risky than any other investment out there. It is less risky than the stock market, no question. What I really like about it is that you are in complete control. You bought the company and the buck stops with you.
6. Do you recommend certain industries over others? Yes, absolutely. There are some industries we won't touch no matter what the deal. But that's why you pay us...to minimize your risk and maximize your return.
7. Speaking of which, what exactly am I paying you for? There are two to three possible fees per investment: a consulting fee, which is a percentage of the value of the business paid at closing, a management fee paid monthly, and possibly equity in the company based on your desire to have us more involved in the sales and marketing aspect of your new investment.
8. Do I have to use your management services? Can I cancel them? We prefer that you use our services. We have made exceptions. If we don't perform up to the expectations you set you can cancel us -- it is in the contract. We also set an exit strategy and time frame (for example: Sell the company in 5 years). Obviously if you sell the company the contract is no longer valid..
9. Can you prove all these claims of riches? Absolutely. Come to Connecticut and I'll show you the businesses, the bank accounts, the tax returns and the strategies. I'll introduce you to some of my associates and you can get a better feel for everything.
